Through partnerships with other community organizations, Rippling Waters takes a holistic approach to improving our neighborhoods through removal of blight, rehabilitation of existing homes, and addition of new housing units. Our goal is to provide 1 to 3 new construction homes annually through local construction and by acquiring homes from the Homes for Iowa program.

Past Projects
New Construction
The previous property at 817 Chester was placarded and demolished by the City due to derelict conditions. Rippling Waters purchased the property and constructed a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house through the Homes for Iowa program.
The home is built with quality 2×6 stick-built construction and Iowa-made Windsor windows. The kitchen and bathrooms include hardwood cabinets with dovetailed drawers and durable countertops.
The home is extremely well insulated with a 95% efficiency gas furnace, heat recovery ventilation and whole house fresh air exchanger. Finished with high-quality luxury vinyl plank in common areas, carpet in bedrooms and tile flooring in bathrooms, the property is now ready for a new family to make home!
Downtown Upper-Story Apartments
Since 2015, Rippling Waters has worked with local partners, Main Street Iowa and Iowa Economic Development Authority to renovate multiple properties in downtown Ottumwa and create new affordable housing. During that time, 6 new apartments have been built in the upper story units of multiple buildings in the 300 block of E Main St.
