Community Supported Agriculture

Community Supported Agriculture is a means for the community to support local farmers by purchasing shares in the farm. A local person buys one or more shares early in the season at a discount. At our farm we sell Market Shares and Traditional. Market  shares allow you to buy any of our products: plants, produce, or garden supplies any time during the year. You can make your purchases at the farm or at one of our farmers’ markets. The Market Share CSA works like a credit line for you. Our past CSA members have appreciated this system and sure you will too.

Traditional Shares are a bag/box of produce that is picked for you each week, sharing in our harvest, from mid-May thru mid-October.  These shares are picked up at the farm (no farmers’ market delivery).

Purchasing a share at the beginning of the season provides us with start-up capital to buy seeds, seedlings, planting materials, and fuel for the greenhouses. And this year is particularly tough for us because we have a lack of funds for our start-up since last season was poor due to the late blight, heavy rains, and the economy being in the slump. So we hope you’ll consider this option to support us and give you and your family healthy produce this summer.

Besides purchasing organic produce and other products at a 10% discount for Market Shares, 15% discount for Traditional Shares, members are invited to take part in life on the farm through events such as volunteer workdays, educational workshops and potlucks. An email newsletter published weekly keeps you informed about farm happenings, delicious upcoming crops and tasty recipes.

In 2012 you can buy a full traditional share or half-share for pick-up at the farm. Please use the form below to order your traditional share.

We also plan to send out timely email reminders to keep members better informed regarding crop availability and upcoming farm events. You are also invited to come out to the farm for a visit or tour any time during the growing season.

Finally, your participation also helps to underwrite our commitment to the greater community by providing fresh, organic food for those who are served by the local emergency food system and our efforts in our community and school gardens.
