We welcome four positions at Rippling Waters Organic Farm to learn the basics of growing and selling sustainable organic produce with a concentration on permaculture practices. These positions are hired through the MOFGA apprenticeship program. You may download an application at: www.mofga.org.
Two positions are for apprentices that can act as journey people at our farm who are ready to manage the fields and to become prepared to run their own farm. These positions run from mid-February to the first of December and generally are a two year position, which corresponds with MOFGA’s journeyperson program.
Apprentices can have no experience to quite skilled. They are given responsibilities based on their experience and skills. One position starts in April and runs through September, while the other position is during college summer break mid-May through mid-August.
All meals and a room either on or off-farm is available. These rooms are in a communal living space. Weekly stipends are also provided: $125 for apprentices, $150 for journeypeople as well as a possible Americorps educational financial award.
All staff will be involved with greenhouse work, seeding, planting, weeding, mulching, harvesting, selling at the farmers markets, our Market CSA’s, our Senior Farmshare members, our local events, local food pantries, and working with volunteers and students.
